Mainstream Media Refused to Report Trump's Bombshell Quid Pro Quo Offer to Big Oil Execs

Media Matters For America delivers a bombshell analysis of news coverage and how its missing from Trump's offer to prostitute himself and the Constitution.

National TV news, with the exception of MSNBC, failed to cover Trump's scandalous Big Oil proposition

Nearly 40% of all TV news coverage appeared on Ali Velshi’s program

WRITTEN BY ALLISON FISHER
Media Matters For America, 05/14/24

On May 9, The Washington Post published an exclusive story on a dinner at Mar-A-Lago in which former President Donald Trump promised to reverse President Joe Biden's actions on climate change as he asked oil executives to raise $1 billion for his presidential campaign, assuring them that they'd be getting a “deal” due to the “taxation and regulation they would avoid thanks to him.”

Subsequently, Reuters, The New York Times, Politico, and The Atlantic, among other digital news sites, covered the new revelation, which The Atlantic’s David A. Graham acknowledged “may not have been illegal,” but described as “undeniably scandalous.” The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Will Bunch posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), “You won't read a more important story today.”

Unfortunately, over a four-day period, TV news broadcast and cable networks — with the exception of MSNBC — did not cover Trump’s proposition to oil executives. From May 9 through May 12, MSNBC spent 48 minutes discussing Trump’s proposition to Big Oil, with nearly 40% of the coverage airing on Velshi.

Big Oil and industry allies have already poured millions of dollars into Trump's joint fundraising committee to help cover his legal fees, all the while also drafting their wish list for his day one agenda, including “ready-to-sign executive orders,” according to Politico. Now, with this new revelation from The Washington Post, it appears the price has been set for getting the oil industry’s wish list done, making it even clearer what’s at stake for the climate in the outcome of the 2024 election.

SNIP...

During the May 10 edition of All In with Chris Hayes, host Chris Hayes interviewed New York Times climate reporter Lisa Friedman about Trump’s proposition to Big Oil, which he pointed out was “not prosecutable under current law,” but “in common parlance … is a political quid pro quo.”

Is Defense Team Scumpf blowing it on purpose in NYC?

The Defendant, upon what seems inevitable conviction, then can appeal to a higher court on grounds of legal malpractice?

Who knows how much time that would by the treasonous fraud?

Melanie K, Court Reporter

I cannot believe I am having to sit at this foeking courtrooms for The Trial of The Donald Sentry. Believe you to me when I say no one deserves to be locked up more than his, but as a loyal trophy I must toe the lies. And he made me come here to show supports and some strategic cleavage, on a day when I could be doing anything else. Now that I think of this, I remember how hard Lara had laughed when Kim said it's like the Big Toe is needing to go along for the Big Lie.

Any damn, here we are in another courtroom in lower Manhattan and I am wearing my journalist disguise kit. I wearing my signature "I really don't care. Do U?" trenchcoat which I wear to visit the little girl scaring the bull on Wall Street where Donald said no one gives him the times of days. My job: Report the Fax and sell the story to Rupert Murdoch or the Moonie Times.

Last night – late, late last night – the nice Secret Service man who never says he's tired stopped massaging my feet and then took the letters off and hand-painted over the parts of the coat to make it look the same, so now it blends more in with all what the reporters in the street outside are wearing. Weird how duck tape could do that to a standard fabric like olive drab canvas. The real reporters are all jammed in the back or in the media corral down the hall. Donald likes to strut by them, and you can tell when his pants are full he walks with his bottom bent forward.

Now I wearing a fleece hoodie underneath. My babushka comes down to cover my Mr. Tony double-plucked brows in front and my signature flowing auburn locks that would be grey if weren’t for Mr. Tony’s special highlights formula. Besides the GRU-issue pumps with the poison bayonet toes, my silk PJs are all I have on other than that and the special ring President Putin gave me with the little white pill in the compartment.

What is wrong with this pictures? So I’ve been here a whole morning and not a one single paparazzi has taken my photo not even once time. I did get a selfie on this amateur phone with Lawrence O’Donnell -- say, “Cheese!" -- but he did not recognize me under all this clothings. Glad the judge asked if it was OK to put the AC on full arctic blast. I wear sweaters that cost more than what most of these losers make in a month.

Now I must be listen to Michael Cohen. Shit! Why, oh why, did he have to tell Donald that I liked to look at pictures of Justin Trudeau all the time? Wasn't he happy with the quoting status, where I did that blue job thing for him all the time whenever he ask, as long as Donald or Ivanka not around? He told me it was party favor thing, not to be a serious.

Some people are so under appreciative. Now Cohen’s let the monkey out of the bank and the Donald is really mad again, more at him like the time we saw Michael Bolton on the elevator at Divorce Court with Marla. All Cohen did was say he thinks it was my idea not to be blaming Donald for the locker room pussy catting talk. I am getting so bored waiting for the judge to look at me so I can give him a thank you flash.

Real story: I remember being in a locker room with Ghislaine one time we were inside of an actual locker and she didn't want me to say anything, just to be super quiet and close the door. Anyway we had a wonderful moments doing our exercises and yoga stretching in there together. Suddenly, this foursome of mens came in from the golfing track and listening to them talking about the balls and the sexing. They talked about how their game they play so well and how big their attachments are, but when we peeked out looking from the little vent slats and saw this equipment of them didn't match their story, but what else is new?

There is little man sitting in the row behind me with black hair and big glasses and shiny heel lift shoes like the kind the Donald wears who keeps tappink me on the shoulders. He reminds me a little of the small man on the television who sat behind President Joe Biden during the speech where all the women wore white and he rolled his eyes all the time. Anyway, Mike, I learned that his name is, passed me a nice note on stationery with Speaker Kevin McCarthy scratched out along the top telling me about how he likes to spend time with his boy, watching and recording. Anyone know what does "MILF" mean?

Holy smoking! Now I am understanding why all those parasites are there standing in the back. Just look at all them bastards. Stupid Tommy, Lyink Ted, J.D. Mascara, new Clarence from South Carolina. They theenk they are here showing support but really trying out for to be The Donald’s Veep. This unstable moron and father of my child could care less for them than he does that accountant flipper. They are just here to intimidate wetnesses like at the trials Roy Cohn liked to taking us. He called them “men of honor.” These today, including The Donald, Roy Cohn he would call “cheeken shits.”

The genocidal maniac?

The Preacher and Vietnam:

When Billy Graham Urged Nixon to Kill One Million People

BY JEFFREY ST. CLAIR - ALEXANDER COCKBURN
CounterPunch.org, SEPTEMBER 27, 2017

There’s a piquant contrast in the press coverage across the decades of Billy Graham’s various private dealings with Richard Nixon, as displayed on the tapes gradually released from the National Archive or disclosed from Nixon’s papers. We’ll come shortly to the flap over Graham and Nixon’s closet palaverings about the Jews, but first let’s visit another interaction between the great evangelist and his commander-in-chief.

Back in April, 1989, a Graham memo to Nixon was made public. It took the form of a secret letter from Graham, dated April 15, 1969, drafted after Graham met in Bangkok with missionaries from Vietnam. These men of God said that if the peace talks in Paris were to fail, Nixon should step up the war and bomb the dikes. Such an act, Graham wrote excitedly, “could overnight destroy the economy of North Vietnam”.

Graham lent his imprimatur to this recommendation. Thus the preacher was advocating a policy to the US Commander in Chief that on Nixon’s own estimate would have killed a million people. The German high commissioner in occupied Holland, Seyss-Inquart, was sentenced to death at Nuremberg for breaching dikes in Holland in World War Two. (His execution did not deter the USAF from destroying the Toksan dam in North Korea, in 1953, thus deliberately wrecking the system that irrigated 75 per cent of North Korea’s rice farms.)

This disclosure of Graham as an aspirant war criminal did not excite any commotion when it became public in 1989, twenty years after it was written. No one thought to chide Graham or even question him on the matter. Very different has been the reception of a new tape revealing Graham, Nixon and Haldeman palavering about Jewish domination of the media and Graham invoking the “stranglehold” Jews have on the media.

On the account of James Warren in the Chicago Tribune, who has filed excellent stories down the years on Nixon’s tapes, in this 1972 Oval Office session between Nixon, Haldeman and Graham, the President raises a topic about which “we can’t talk about it publicly,” namely Jewish influence in Hollywood and the media.

The Missing Trial of Donald J Trump

While the Orange Turd may be held to account for "election interference" by hiding hush money payments, "mishandling" Top Secret and Sensitive Defense Information, "stealing" a presidential election, "hiding" money from various banks and the taxman, plus who knows what high crimes and misdemeanors else, one important area has not been addressed by Special Counsel or the investigative units of mainstream media:

As pee-resident, Trump represented the most successful spy operation of all time: Putin’s insertion of an active agent into the Oval Office.

Unretouched photo in which then-President Donald Trump sends former KGB colonel Vladimir Putin a conspiratorial wink.

Trump hid his calls with Putin. Now, Biden has access to them.

What was said between the two leaders is a great mystery, one that advisers to the current president say is imperative to find out.

By NATASHA BERTRAND and DANIEL LIPPMAN
Politico, 02/09/2021

Few Trump-era mysteries are as intriguing as what the 45th president said to Vladimir Putin in at least a dozen rambling, off-the-cuff calls and meetings over four years. Understanding what was said between the two could help illuminate whether Trump ever revealed sensitive information or struck any deals with the Kremlin leader that could take the new administration by surprise.

Now that President Joe Biden is in the White House, he can see for himself.

“They don’t need our approval to see those [records],” a former Trump White House official said, referring to the new Biden national security team. “Biden owns all the call materials. There is only one president at a time.”

SNIP…

“It is a national security priority to find out what Trump said to Putin” over his four years in office, said one former national security official who is close to the new president. “Some things, like what happened in some face-to-face meetings where no American translator or note-taker was present, may never be fully known. But I would be very surprised if the new national security team were not trying to access” the call records.

SNIP…

Trump went to particularly great lengths to keep his in-person conversations with the Russian leader private, from confiscating his interpreter’s notes to forgoing American translators and notetakers altogether in their meetings. That desire for secrecy has extended even past his time in office. One former Trump official argued last week that records of Trump’s conversations with Putin, which often lasted an hour or more, should not be made available to his successor.

In his capacity as pee-resident, Trump represented an existential threat to national security as an agent working to advance the interests of Vladimir Putin. Therefore, in lieu of an investigation by the press or Congress, it would advance the national interest for the Department of Justice to investigate the troubling relationship between Boss Putin and Toad Trump. (Otherwise, without involvement by DoJ, Every Good American would want to perform a Citizen's Arrest the next time the guy is in town.)

Trump’s Top Targets in the Russia Probe Are Experts in Organized Crime

Some of President Trump’s favorite targets in the Russia probe have spent their careers in the Justice Department and the FBI investigating organized crime and money laundering, particularly as they pertain to Russia.

NATASHA BERTRAND
The Atlantic, AUG 30, 2018

Bruce Ohr. Lisa Page. Andrew Weissmann. Andrew McCabe. President Donald Trump has relentlessly attacked these FBI and Justice Department officials as dishonest “Democrats” engaged in a partisan “witch hunt” led by the special counsel determined to tie his campaign to Russia. But Trump’s attacks have also served to highlight another thread among these officials and others who have investigated his campaign: their extensive experience in probing money laundering and organized crime, particularly as they pertain to Russia.

snip...

Trump’s latest obsession is with Bruce Ohr, a career Justice Department official who spent years investigating Russian organized crime and corruption—an expertise he shared with another Trump target named Christopher Steele, the former British intelligence operative who provided valuable intelligence on Russia to the State Department and the FBI’s Eurasian Organized Crime Task Force prior to authoring the Trump-Russia dossier in 2016. Ohr and Steele met in 2007, according to The New York Times, and stayed in touch as a result of their shared interests and mutual respect. Trump has tweeted about Ohr nearly a dozen times this month alone, complaining about his relationship with Steele and Ohr’s wife’s past work for Fusion GPS—the opposition-research firm that hired Steele in 2016 to research Trump’s Russia ties.

snip...

Trump’s fixation with seeing Ohr ousted from the Justice Department could be perceived as yet another attempt to undermine the credibility of the people who have investigated him. It could also be interpreted as an attack on someone with deep knowledge of the shady characters Trump and his cohort have been linked to, including Semion Mogilevich, the Russian mob boss, and Oleg Deripaska, a Russian aluminum magnate close to Putin who did business with Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort. (Incidentally, another Manafort associate, the Ukrainian billionaire Dmitry Firtash, admitted that he only managed to be in business because Mogilevich allowed him to be, according to a leaked 2008 State Department cable.) Ohr was involved in banning Deripaska from the U.S. in 2006, due to his alleged ties to organized crime and fear that he would try to launder money into American real estate. Nearly a decade later, Ohr and the FBI sought Deripaska’s help in taking down overseas criminal syndicates.

Snip...

The president has denied having any business ties to Russia, and his dream of building a Trump Tower Moscow never materialized. But his links to Russian oligarchs and mobsters from the former Soviet Union have been documented: Millions of dollars from the former Soviet Union flowed into Trump’s developments and casinos throughout the 1990s, as the journalist Craig Unger has chronicled, as oligarchs looked for a place to hide their money in the West. The Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, was once known as a hot spot for Brooklyn mobsters associated with the Russian Mafia, and quickly became the “favorite East Coast destination” of the top Russian mob boss Vyacheslav Ivankov, according to the 2000 book Red Mafiya: How the Russian Mob Has Invaded America. It was also repeatedly cited by the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network for having inadequate money-laundering controls.

So. How many Americans even know this story? Most all the people I have asked about it have no clue. And for that ignorance, I blame the Media Monopoly, AKA the mainstream press, comprised of broadcast news organizations and America's major newspapers and news magazines, such as they are.

Of course, there's more to the Trump-Putin Love Story. Trump actually invited the GRU into the Oval Office.

The photo of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and dip above was taken by TASS, the official Russian news agency. The US media were not informed about the 2017 visit. We learned about it because the Unhinged Moron himself spread the pic proudly on social media.

How many people do you know who’ve seen that picture or the one below, taken on an earlier date in the Oval Office? Again, very few.

“I just fired the head of the FBI. He was crazy, a real nut job," Trump said, according to The Times. "I faced great pressure because of Russia. That's taken off.”

"I'm not under investigation," he added.

The polls indicating the 2024 Presidential Election currently is a dead-heat demonstrates the power of propaganda and the corrupt nature of America’s profit-driven news media. Were it otherwise, most Americans would know Trump hosted Russia’s top spies and fired America's top counter-espionage agents specializing in catching Russian spies. Putting Trump on trial as a dirty rotten spy would change the narrative, as they say.

That's where the facts lead. And that is where criminal investigations should begin: Trump should be facing a third federal trial, answering charges of espionage on behalf of Russia.

Happy World Donkey Day, Fellow Donk's!

Today is World Donkey Day.

From the Ground report:

On May 8th, we celebrate World Donkey Day, dedicated to raising awareness about the plight of these remarkable animals and recognizing their historical contributions to society.

The donkey, a member of the equidae family, was first domesticated approximately 6,000 years ago in North Africa, initially valued for its milk and meat.

World Donkey Day was established through the efforts of Razik Ark, a scientist specializing in desert animals, who sought to highlight the significance of donkeys in enhancing human life.

Throughout history, donkeys have served various roles crucial to human civilization. Today, they remain indispensable in agriculture and rural settings, as well as for transporting goods, although their utilization is declining in many regions.

Nixon and Dulles wanted to Nuke North Vietnam.

Today marks 70th Anniversary of the French surrender at Dien Bien Phu in Vietnam. The Republicans in Washington did all they could to keep the war going, sending France all the weapons and ammo they could. But it wasn’t enough, so VP Richard Nixon and Secretary of State John Foster Dulles proposed Operation VULTURE.

“We might give them a few.”

Did the US offer to drop atom bombs at Dien Bien Phu?

By Fredrik Logevall
Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists | February 21, 2016

Excerpt…

Turning to Dulles, the foreign minister noted the presence of American ships in the Gulf of Tonkin and Dulles’s repeated public statements that the United States would not tolerate the expansion of communism. If Washington so desired it could now reconcile those twin realities by assisting her ally at Dien Bien Phu. “He merely looked glum,” Bidault later remembered of the American’s reaction, “and did not even promise to repeat my request to Washington.”

But Dulles did offer a response, the nature of which has been shrouded in controversy for more than half a century. According to Bidault, the American took him aside during an intermission and asked him whether atomic bombs could be effective at Dien Bien Phu. If so, Dulles allegedly went on, his government could provide two such bombs to France. Bidault said he turned down the suggestion flat, on the grounds that the bombs would destroy the garrison as well as the Viet Minh, while dropping them farther away, on supply lines, would risk war with China. When informed a few months later of Bidault’s claim, Dulles said he could not recall making such an offer and insisted there must have been a misunderstanding.

Given Bidault’s visible exhaustion on the day in question, and his muddled speechmaking, and given the lack of any British or American confirmation of the claim, it is reasonable to suppose Dulles had it right: No offer was made. On the other hand, Bidault’s version is supported by senior French official Jean Chauvel in his memoirs, and by French general Paul Ely in his diary, which was kept on a daily basis. Ely, a key player on Indochina strategy in these months, wrote that he was of two minds about “the offer of two atom bombs. The psychological impact would be tremendous, but the [military] effectiveness would was uncertain, and it carries the risk of generalized warfare.”

Moreover, Bidault’s contention that Washington might offer atom bombs to his government had an inherent plausibility. In December 1953, when Western leaders held talks in Bermuda, Eisenhower alarmed the British and French delegations by referring casually to the atomic bomb as just another weapon in the West’s arsenal, one that might be used if the Chinese under Mao Zedong violated the terms of the recently-concluded truce in the Korean War. In February 1954, the president told Congressional leaders that in the event of war with China the United States would “go all the way,” with no limitations on targets hit or weapons used.

You could drop the Bomb, clean those commies out, and the band could play the Marseillaise. At several points in the weeks thereafter, US strategists considered the possible use of the Bomb, and according to one interpretation Operation Vulture always had, from its inception, an atomic dimension. In early April, a study group in the Pentagon examined the possibility of using atomic weapons at Dien Bien Phu and concluded that three tactical A-bombs, properly employed, would be sufficient to obliterate the Viet Minh effort there. Admiral Arthur Radford used this finding to suggest the use of the A-bomb to the National Security Council on April 7. According to Air Force Chief of Staff Nathan Twining, “You could take all day to drop a bomb, make sure you put it in the right place…and clean those Commies out of there and the band could play the Marseillaise and the French could come marching out…in great shape.”
